A Bilingual Celebration
Join us for a fun day celebrating Japanese and American traditions of Autumn and Halloween.
We will sing a variety of English and Japanese songs.
We will also have fun making arts and crafts for the fall and share stories and tasty snacks.
Don’t forget to wear your costumes!!
About the teacher
Sara Pekofsky
Sara Pekofsky has spent an extensive time in Japan from her childhood. She studied Japanese culture, language, and art at Kansai Gaikokugo Daigaku and received her BA in East Asian Studies and Art History at PACE University in Manhattan. She has worked for several Japanese companies including MUJI USA, Gorgeous Entertainment, and Caelum Gallery. In addition to this, she currently does interpreting for several Japanese Artists and Chefs in New York. She also studied traditional Japanese Sweets making and cooking in Kyoto, Japan.
Sakura Banta
Sakura Banta graduated from Kansai Gaikokugo Daigaku with an AA in English and American studies including 2 months studying abroad in New Zealand. She first came to the United States in 2001. While getting an Early Childhood Education certificate at Diablo Valley College in California she worked at Maria Montessori Preschool in San Francisco. She loves making sweets and working on craft projects. She is currently working for a biotechnology company, but is returning to teaching in November and is very excited about it.
