SUMMARY:Virtual Ikebana class - Misho Style
DESCRIPTION:A few things you will need before the class: \n1. You will need to find your own flowers. We are sorry that we are unable to deliver flowers to your home (try calling around; some local shops will deliver). But any flowers are OK! Just make sure to get 2-3 varieties\, and choose what you like. We don’t need a lot. \n2. You will need clippers or scissors that you don’t mind using to cut flower stems. \n3. A vase. If you don’t have a vase\, you can use a glass\, a coffee cup\, a cereal bowl\, or your choice of container\, as long as it has a little depth. You might even surprise yourself with how nice a non-traditional vase can look with a cute arrangement of flowers. \n*If you have your own Kenzan\, Flower Pin\, or Pin Frog\, you can use it. And if you want to buy one\, you can order on Amazon online. \nIn this class\, we will check each student’s tools and flowers\, then help you with tips on how to build up and create your own Ikebana arrangement. \n**Classes will be held via the Zoom Video Conferencing application\, a private Zoom link will be sent to participants before the class begins. The classes will be held in Eastern Time. \n  \nPLEASE NOTE: The class sign up deadline is 72 hours before the class begins. Cancellation after this period will NOT be refunded. \n\n\n$30 / person \nAll materials included \n\nReserve Your Spot \n\n  \n\nLearn more about Virtual Ikebana class at RESOBOX \nView class page →

SUMMARY:Chanoyu: Japanese Tea Ceremony at the Table
DESCRIPTION:During a tea ceremony\, powdered green tea\, or matcha\, is prepared using traditional tea utensils. A bowl of matcha prepared and sipped in this setting will have a deeper\, richer taste than usual\, permeating the entire body. \n\n\n\n\n  \nPLEASE NOTE: The class sign up deadline is 72 hours before the class begins. SUMMARY:Sumi-E: Japanese Ink Painting - Cherry Blossom (Sakura)
DESCRIPTION:Sumi-e\, also called Suibokuga\, is the art of ink wash-painting. Characteristically\, it is an East Asian art\, and has been practiced there for well over a thousand years. Sumi-e depicts the spirit or essence of an object or scene rather than its outward appearance — and does so in the fewest possible strokes. Because of this simplicity\, the painter’s character and personality come through in his/her work. In both viewing and creating\, Sumi-e is a very contemplative form of painting. \nIn this class at RESOBOX\, a Japanese cultural center in New York\, all students will start from the basics of ink-wash painting\, such as how to hold a brush. All materials such as ink\, brushes\, calligraphy paper\, etc. will be provided for the students. \n  \nPLEASE NOTE: The class sign up deadline is 72 hours before the class begins. Cancellation after this period will NOT be refunded. \n\n\n$40 / person \nAll materials included \n\nReserve Your Spot \n\n  \n\nLearn more about Sumi-E class at RESOBOX \nView class page → \n
