On July 13, 2024, RESOBOX East Village hosted a private class in Ikebana, the art of Japanese flower arrangement. This special session was organized for a group of five women visiting from Sweden and was led by Torisu-sensei, an instructor from the Sogetsu School of Ikebana. A traditional Japanese art form, Ikebana embodies the essence of Japanese aesthetics, and the Sogetsu School is renowned for its emphasis on free and creative expression.
Under Torisu-sensei’s guidance, participants explored the Japanese approach to elegance and its deep connection with nature. They experienced the art of expressing their personal sensibilities through flowers while appreciating each stem’s inherent vitality and beauty. Throughout the class, the instructor provided detailed advice on selecting flowers and achieving harmonious arrangements, ensuring that each participant’s work reflected their individual creativity.
The visitors from Sweden enjoyed their exquisite opportunity to immerse themselves in Japanese culture and aesthetics through this enriching experience.
