What is the Amaou Strawberry?
Located in northeastern Kyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture is favored for its genial climate and is the first and only place where Hakata Amaou strawberries are cultivated. Among many of Fukuoka’s specialties, Hakata Amaou is by far one of the most popular products originated in the prefecture. With such a high reputation for its large size and delicious flavor nationwide in Japan, the strawberries are also highly popular and enjoyed overseas in areas such as Taiwan and Hong Kong.
The Amaou strawberry is not only tasty but also very nutritious as well! It contains dietary fiber for absorbing and discharging toxins, as well as potassium which aids in de-swelling the face and body. In addition, the Amaou strawberry in high in vitamins, containing almost half as much vitamin C as a lemon!
