Overview
She’s back! Straight from Japan, Special Guest Chef Asako Nonaka returns to Resobox for another installment of her popular Handmade Soba Workshop!
Soba is a traditional Japanese food that has been eaten for many generations. These buckwheat noodles can be found in many restaurants not only in Japan, but right here in New York City, and they’re not only tasty, they’re also packed full of health benefits! Eating soba can help you recover from fatigue and prevent your skin from aging too quickly. Some even believe that if you eat soba, you will live longer!
In this workshop, instructor Asako Nonaka will take attendees on a culinary journey through the fascinating world of soba. The voyage begins with an introduction to soba’s storied history, and a walk through the regions where the best soba can be found. Attendees will also get to learn about the nutritional benefits of soba before rolling up their sleeves to take on the task of making some for themselves. Everyone will have the chance to make two portions of soba noodles: one to enjoy during the class, and one to take home and savor later. It’s sure to be a delightful and delectable time for all, so we hope you’ll join us!
