Made in Queens @ RESOBOX

May 21 @ 12:05 am

RESOBOX will be holding a joint installation with pop-up store, Made in Queens (MiQ) this April 2017! With a collection of local artists, MiQ and RESOBOX plan to create an innovative space to embrace the Queens art community.

The Made in Queens Project aka MiQ, is a project of the Queens Economic Development Corporation that began in 2016. MiQ‘s mission is to shine a spotlight on local makers and sell small batch, originally manufactured local products. The goal is to promote local makers and manufacturers, share their stories, and provide an opportunity for new and existing local businesses to grow and flourish.

MiQ curates innovative entrepreneurs, manufacturers, producers, designers, artisans, and community partners seeking to gain exposure to their products in a new and unique atmosphere. We aim to continually provide our customers with new small batch, originally manufactured products and other gift choices. We are in the business of economic development and want to encourage the sale of local products — not mass produced, off-shored or resold items. We promise to learn the names of the manufacturers and the origins of their products so that we can share the stories of each brand and product we feature with our customers. We want to help visitors make conscious purchasing decisions and, on a broader scale, to cultivate and promote conscious consumerism.
