Workshop Overview
Have you heard of miniature food? “Miniature food” refers to any items using the motif of really small versions of foods. It’s a hot topic on TV and magazines.
Miniature food is easy to enjoy, so people of all ages, from small children to grownups, can have fun with it.
In this workshop you will learn the basics of creating bagels, baguettes, chocolate cornets and melon buns from scratch, using clay.
You can make the pastries any size you like, creating cute miniature breads and pastries that are all your own.
One feature that makes miniature breads and pastries especially charming is that later you can turn them into brooches and other accessories. So let’s have fun making lots of miniature breads and pastries!
Lessons are taught by Mika Furuya, our first certification instructor in New York.
Also participating will be Reina Nozu, founder and director of the Miniature Food Association of Japan, specially arriving from Japan.

Miniature food is easy to enjoy, so people of all ages, from small children to grownups, can have fun with it.
Our association plays a vital role in showcasing the appeal of miniature food to a wider audience. Primarily in Japan, we teach people how to create miniature food, starting with the basics.
We train miniature-food artists for active careers in Japan as well as overseas.
We’re also conducting a wide range of activities bring miniature foods to people outside Japan. These include collaborations with Ippudo Paris and BLT Steak Japan, a one-month exhibition in New York, workshops in Paris and certification lessons in Taiwan.
