Overview
Award-winning director, Yosuke Hosoi, talks about how his film “Man of the House” reached the Cannes Film Festival and his personal experience at the festival. He will cover the production process from fundraising, script writing, production, post production to film festivals submissions. “Man of the House” will be screened along with his previous film “Club Fizz.” There will be a Q&A sessions followed by a networking event.

About the Speaker
Yosuke Hosoi
Yosuke Hosoi is a film director from Japan. In 2005, Yosuke moved to Los Angeles, determined to make his mark in the United States. He gained valuable experience through his work on independent feature films, commercials, and music videos. In an effort to develop a better understanding of what happens on the other side of the camera, Yosuke studied acting under Rick Podell at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. A year later, Yosuke made yet another bold move to New York, where he enrolled into the BFA program at The City College of New York. In 2010, his team placed third in the Financial Awareness Video Competition held by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. His talent and hard work has been recognized and awarded a number of accolades, which include runner-up in the 2011 Asian American International Film Festival for his film “Club Fizz.” His thesis film “Man of the House” is accepted into Cannes Film Festival 2012.
ニューヨークを拠点に活動する映画監督。
埼玉生まれ。高校卒業後、2005年に世界で通用する映画監督を志してアメリカ、ハリウッドへ渡る。長編映画からミュージックビデオなど数々の現場で経験を積んだ。またビバリーヒルズプレイハウスで演劇を学ぶ。
2008年ニューヨークへ移り、ニューヨーク市立大学でさらに映画製作を学ぶ。在籍中に監督した作品『クラブ・フィズ』で 2011 ニューヨーク アジアン アメリカン映画祭での受賞、ニューヨーク連邦銀行主催のコマーシャルのコンペで受賞する。また卒業制作の『五歳の大黒柱』は同大学の審査会にて最優秀美術賞を獲得し、2012年3月のクイーンズ ワールド フィルムフェスティバルを皮切りに、カンヌ国際映画祭ショートフィルムコーナーなど、世界各国の映画祭を回っている。現在はフリーランスで撮影をしながら、初長編映画に向けて企画を進行させている。
