Overview
Japanese Flower Arrangements by RESOBOX Ikebana and Ryusei-ha students
Ikebana is the Japanese practice and art of flower arrangement that stems from the words “ikeru,” meaning “to keep alive” and “hana” meaning “flower.” The Ryusei-ha school was founded by Yoshimura Kaun in 1886 which style has been practiced for over a century. The Ryusei-ha consists of two styles: Freestyle, which allows artist to sculpt their own individual expressions, and Classical style, which carries tradition and was founded along with the school in 1886.
Our very first Ryusei-ha show will introduce arrangements by RESOBOX Ikebana students and NY Ryusei-ha students both instructed by Masako Gibeault.
