Sento Night

This winter will undoubtedly be unlike any other one we have had. How will you spend your time at home?
In this online attraction, you’ll learn about the wonderful world of “Sento” and have the chance to experience Sento at our Virtual Sento Tour.
Participants will be sent a Zoom link before the event begins.

What is Sento?

Sento is a Japanese communal bathhouse and a local establishment.
It has been serving people’s needs for daily hygiene for more than 500 years.

The lecture will be conducted by a Sento specialist, Chi-san as our guest speaker.
Her lecture will include the many wonders and rules of the Sento, as listed below:

・ How to enter the public bath, manners
・ What to bring and how to pay when going to a public bath
・ How to find a public bath in Japan
・ Kanji often seen in public baths

Virtual Sento Tour

This will fearture four different Sento located in Tokyo, where participants will get the chance to visit straight from their computer screens!
Chi-san will use Google Indoor View and explain each Sento, one by one, in detail!
