In May 2023, RESOBOX President Takashi Ikezawa traveled from New York to Japan to visit the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME), located in Tokyo’s Minato Ward. This was a valuable opportunity to connect directly with officials involved in promoting Japanese products all over the world, and to have a dialogue about the factors affecting this kind of trade.
At JETRO, with whom Mr. Ikezawa recently partnered to provide support for businesses and their workers involved with expanding across the globe, we engaged in meaningful discussions with a number of professionals working to aid Japanese companies’ overseas distribution efforts. During the exchange, we shared valuable insights and up-to-date information from the New York market.
Since 2019, RESOBOX has been actively involved as internationalization support advisors with the SME, which is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. While our previous interactions were primarily conducted online through platforms like Zoom, this visit provided an opportunity for Mr. Ikezawa to meet the agency’s officials in person and discuss various aspects of trade during the COVID-19 pandemic and after.
Through the challenges posed by the pandemic, Japanese companies’ export business has become even more vibrant. At RESOBOX, we are committed to strengthening the bond between the United States and Japan, and we aim to deliver exceptional Japanese products and culture to the world from New York. We aspire to promote and showcase the best of Japan, fostering a greater connection between nations.
