Premium Japanese Textile Exhibition in Response to TEXWORLD NYC
RESOBOX held a three-day exhibition specializing in premium Japanese-made textiles from July 22-24 at our East Village space. The exhibition featured five Japanese textile manufacturers and welcomed approximately 150 buyers and industry professionals.
Background of the Exhibition
The international textile trade fair TEXWORLD NYC, held at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, attracts buyers from around the world. Recognizing strong demand from TEXWORLD NYC attendees seeking deeper knowledge of Japanese textile products, RESOBOX organized this specialized Japanese textile exhibition to complement the broader trade show.
Exhibition Highlights and Attendees
The exhibition showcased the finest of Japanese textile craftsmanship, featuring traditional chirimen (crepe fabric) manufactured domestically in Japan, as well as functional fabrics that apply Japan’s traditional weaving techniques to contemporary yarns. Notably, the exhibition demonstrated how identical materials can yield entirely different characteristics depending on weaving methods—whether incorporating durability features or modern adaptations of traditional weaving approaches.
Attendees represented diverse sectors across the fashion industry, including wholesalers, retail shops, apparel manufacturers, specialty textile retailers, and online shops. The exhibition clearly demonstrated strong buyer interest in Japanese textiles and their unique qualities.
Future Direction
Building on the exhibition’s success, RESOBOX will intensify efforts to present the possibilities of premium Japanese textiles to the world’s most influential apparel makers concentrated in New York.
