HANADOJO, representing the Ohara School of Ikebana NY Chapter, is delighted to present “By Special Arrangement: Ohara Ikebana Full-Day Workshop” on Saturday, October 21st. This workshop has been thoughtfully designed to deepen your appreciation of the Ohara School of Ikebana, welcoming nature and flower enthusiasts of all skill levels.
As part of this unique opportunity, we are pleased to host a distinguished guest from Tokyo! An assistant professor affiliated with the Council of Ohara Professors will be in attendance, and students will have the valuable opportunity to receive feedback and critiques from our esteemed guest, enriching the learning experience.
Students will be split into groups based on skill level and experience. For students actively enrolled in Ohara’s curriculum, completing these assignments will allow you to accumulate a total of 3 credits toward certification. If you’re joining an Ohara class for the first time, you will learn a total of 2 arrangements for 2 credits.

About the Instructor
Asae Takahashi
Asae, the founder of HANADOJO has been teaching various Japanese cultural activities in addition to instructing Ohara style Ikebana for 8 years. One of her goals as an Ikebana artist is to expand the opportunity for men and women of all ages to enjoy a very established Japanese artform with an understanding of the philosophy of “Nature Appreciation”.
Asae, is a certified instructor of “Ohara School of Ikebana” who delivers renowned authentic Ikebana experiences such as displays, demonstrations, lectures, and workshops at various events and venues.
