The deliciously sweet and juicy Amaou Strawberries are already well-loved in Japan, and have recently been making a splash in New York food circles. In order to introduce them to even more potential fans, Beryl Shereshewsky, a YouTuber in New York, did a video covering them, in collaboration with the Export Promotion Division of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Department of Fukuoka Prefecture.
Beryl Shereshewsky presents a variety of foods from around the world on YouTube and other social networking sites. She is a popular YouTuber with 453,000 followers (as of April 2022) and videos with over 1.9 million views.
When we contacted her to ask about teaming up, she was enthusiastic about the idea, commenting “I am really interested in Amaou.”
For various reasons, including the seasonality of strawberries, we were able to post a short video without a meeting, but we received 55,000 “likes” and over 600 comments.

This is just the first part of what we hope will be a long and fruitful partnership with Ms. Shereshewsky, who has built her YouTube platform around food culture and trying foods from around the world. We are planning to create more videos that shine a spotlight on unique and tasty specialties from Japan. Please look forward to our future efforts.
