RESOBOX is proud to support the New York debut of Mitsue, one of Japan’s most renowned crochet artists.
From January 16th to 18th, Mitsue participated as an invited artist at Vogue Knitting Live, a major knitting event held in New York City. To celebrate her visit, we organized collaborative projects to introduce Mitsue and her work to a diverse group of local fiber and textile artists in New York.
Our connection with Mitsue spans nearly a decade, dating back to the “World Amigurumi Exhibition” that was held at RESOBOX for several years. As an artist who seamlessly blends amigurumi, textile art, and fiber art, Mitsue continues to evolve into a one-of-a-kind global creator. Supporting her journey from New York to the wider world is both our mission and our challenge.
One highlight of this trip is a collaboration between Mitsue and Jessie Ksanznak, the founder of New York-based yarn company Yarn Over New York. Jessie is not only a master yarn dyer but also a circus director—her yarns are vibrant and bold, yet somehow radiate a warmth that embraces everyone. We’re excited to see how Mitsue will incorporate these unique materials into her work. We can’t wait to see the final pieces!
