On February 8th 2025, RESOBOX participated in a special sales event hosted by Japanese Artist Pop Up Shop at Japan Village in Brooklyn. The event featured a curated selection of premium Japanese products, including “Tricolor Strawberries” from Nara Ichigo Lab (featuring the varieties Kotoka, Awayuki, and Pearl White), high-end Crown Melons from Shizuoka, tatami wallets by Oda Tatami Shop, Edo Kiriko glassware by Kimoto Glassware, Kimekomi dolls by Kyugetsu, and a variety of traditional crafts from Fukui Prefecture.
The event drew a large crowd of visitors. While the strawberries and melons didn’t completely sell out during the event, we were able to secure a wholesale deal through an introduction by Ikigai Fruits, which made our participation feel very worthwhile. The response to our crafts exceeded expectations, making the experience even more satisfying.
This winter, we’ve taken part in several events, including ones we organized ourselves. Some products performed very well, while others did not—a true mix of highs and lows that offered valuable learning experiences. Above all, the chance to deliver quality Japanese goods directly to New Yorkers was a rewarding achievement.
Adding to the excitement, the New York Sumo Club gave a demonstration and lecture just behind our booth, drawing plenty of attention. The sumo wrestlers even posed for photos holding some of the Japanese fruits and crafts on display. They’re currently preparing for the US SUMO OPEN, a national tournament scheduled for May 10th. If you’re interested, we highly encourage you to attend and show your support!
