Yoshinokawa, Niigata's 450-Year-Old Sake Brewery, Pours for New York at Local Liquor Shops

Collage from the Yoshinokawa sake tastings at New York liquor shops: customers tasting and staff pouring at the in-store events

As part of a Niigata Prefecture initiative to bring the region's products overseas, RESOBOX organized in-store tasting and sales events for Yoshinokawa — the sake brewery from Nagaoka City with over 450 years of history — at two New York liquor shops: Shon 45 Wine & Spirits and Greenpoint Wine & Liquor.

Four and a Half Centuries in Every Glass

Founded in 1548, Yoshinokawa is one of Japan's oldest sake breweries, and its crisp, food-friendly Niigata style translated beautifully to New York palates. Shoppers stopped, tasted, and discovered a brewery whose history predates the city itself — our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us.

Bringing Niigata Sake Closer to New Yorkers

Local liquor shops are where new drinkers actually meet new brands, and these events showed how well Niigata sake connects when someone can taste it on the spot. We look forward to bringing Yoshinokawa to more neighborhoods across the city.
